“Qing tuan”, Qing means green, tuan means round, as a seasonal food was Qingming festival’s (tomb-sweeping day) standard snack food. Every time this season, Shanghai people will wait in a long queue to buy! Because after this season they have to wait next year to get it!
Making “Qing tuan” there are three main sources.
1. Wormwood, use wormwood to make wormwood juice or wormwood powder. Then added to the glutinous rice flour.
2. Toothed burclover, toothed burclover juice added to glutinous rice flour.
3. Wheat, made wheat leaf juice into glutinous rice flour.
